rain in eclipse

”Some people walk in the rain,
others just get wet.”
Roger Miller

Yojiro Kake's new collection comes like a welcome
summer rain suddenly cleansing and cooling next
season's scenery: the Japanese talent who's far from
being wet behind the ears despite his young age and
who got up the nerve to set up his own label in Florence
(previously) soon developed a storytelling approach
through traditional tailoring and great attention to detail.

Deeply inspired by rainy days' poetry - those unique
moments when you stay put watching tiny streams
of water coursing down the window pane blurring the
outside view and puddling on the sill - Kake's newest
fall-winter 2014-15 collection, called 'Rain in Eclipse',
shows unfailing classics such as capes, trench coats
and down jackets skillfully reconstructed from menswear
tailoring and reinvented through novel shapes with
drapings, original cuts and gorgeous fabric combinations
as well as experimental pieces playing on volumes subtly
enhanced by the black & white pictures of the lookbook.

Timeless and modern at the same time, after all
without the rain there would be no rainbow.
